Frequently asked questions
Last updated: 2 August 2026
1. What is Find It?
Find It is an Australian product search and price-comparison tool. You search once and see results from selected retailers. We are not a shop — product links take you to the retailer’s site to buy.
2. Which stores do you search?
We search a curated set of Australian retailers that are currently enabled in the product. The list can change as we add or pause stores. We do not claim to cover every retailer or every product.
3. Are prices and stock always accurate?
No. Prices, images, and availability come from retailer sites or APIs and may be cached, delayed, or wrong. Always confirm price and stock on the retailer’s own page before purchasing.
4. What does Closer mean?
Closer is how Find It sorts by what’s nearest to you. Share a postcode or use GPS, then tap Closer on the homepage (or choose Closest first under Sort by). Where we have store locations, product cards can show distance and nearest-store name. Pair with In-store only and Within (km) when you want a tighter local search. Without a location, Closest first cannot meaningfully rank by distance.
5. Why do I need a postcode or location?
Distance and Closest-first sorting need a place to measure from. GPS is usually more precise; a postcode uses a suburb centre, so kilometres can be approximate (~km). Location is optional for price-only searches — you only need it when you care about near-you results.
6. What do distance and in-store mean?
If you share a postcode or GPS location, we can sort by nearest store and show distance where we have store locations. “In-store” and similar chips depend on what each retailer exposes — some only provide national or soft stock signals, not a guarantee at your nearest store. Always confirm stock on the retailer’s own page before you go or buy.
7. Do you charge retailers for better rankings?
Find It does not sell the order of organic retailer comparison results. Sort controls (Cheaper, Closer, Quicker) order those organic cards by price, proximity, or delivery signal. Some result slots may show labelled Promoted or Sponsored partner offers (affiliate arrangements) in addition to organic cards. See How we compare / Disclosure for commercial detail.
8. Do I need an account?
No. You can search without creating an account. Optional preferences (for example last query) may stay in your browser’s local storage.
9. How do Did you mean / Try suggestions work?
If a query looks misspelled or thin, we may suggest corrections or related terms from our search-quality dictionary and synonym data. Suggestions are optional — you choose whether to run them.
10. Is there a mobile app?
Find It search is available on the web. Native App Store and Google Play listings will appear on the Download page when they are published — you can use search in a browser today without an app.
11. How do you handle my data?
See our Privacy Policy for what we collect (search activity, light analytics, optional location you share) and why. Admin login cookies are only for operators of the private dashboard.
12. How can I contact you?
See the Contact page. Privacy questions are covered on the Privacy Policy (which also links to Contact).
