How we compare
Comparator disclosure (ACCC-aligned)
Last updated: 2 August 2026
1. Purpose of this disclosure
Find It (findit.best) is an Australian online tool that helps you search and compare product information across selected retailers. This page explains retailer coverage, how results are ordered, and our commercial relationships — in line with ACCC guidance for comparator websites.
Find It is not a retailer or marketplace. When you follow a product link, you leave Find It and deal with that retailer.
2. Retailers covered
At the time this page was last updated, default search can include: Target, Kmart, JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, Aldi, Umart, Chemist Warehouse, BCF, Rebel Sport, Supercheap Auto, Priceline, Petstock, Beacon Lighting, TerryWhite Chemmart, Adairs, Cotton On, Mecca, Nick Scali, PetBarn, 99 Bikes, Reid Cycles, David Jones, Bunnings, and Big W.
You can narrow which of these stores are searched using the store selector on the search page. Other retailers may be dormant (connector kept but not shown in default search) or added later. We do not claim to cover every Australian retailer or every product.
3. Where prices and stock come from
- Third-party data. Product names, prices, images, links, and availability signals are obtained from retailer websites or APIs. They may be incomplete, delayed, cached, or incorrect.
- Confirm before you buy. Always check the final price and stock on the retailer’s own site before purchasing.
- Stock and distance. Nearest-store distance and “in-store” style indicators depend on what each retailer exposes and whether you shared a postcode or GPS location. Some retailers only provide national or soft stock signals — not a guarantee at your nearest store. Postcode-based distance can be approximate because it uses a suburb centre rather than your exact address.
4. How results are ranked and sorted
After retailers return products, on-page controls let you look at the same results as Cheaper (price), Closer (nearest), or Quicker (delivery-available). Current sort options include:
- Price (low to high / high to low). Orders by the price value we received for each product card (Cheaper).
- Closest / proximity (Closer). When distance is available from your postcode or GPS, nearer products rank first; otherwise price is used as a tie-break. Without a usable location, proximity sort cannot meaningfully order by distance. In-store only and Within (km) further narrow local-style results when you use those filters.
- Delivery / quickest delivery signal (Quicker). Prefers products marked as delivery-available (and related online signals) based on retailer data we received — not a guaranteed delivery time.
5. Default ordering and filters
Search may apply title-matching and other quality filters so results stay relevant to your query. Did-you-mean and “Try” suggestions are optional corrections or alternatives — they do not change ranking unless you run them. Result depth may be capped for performance; where we know a retailer’s larger catalogue total, we aim to show honest “showing X of ~Y” style messaging.
6. Commercial relationships
This commercial disclosure explains how organic comparison cards relate to labelled Promoted placements. Related Terms, Privacy, Disclaimer, About, and FAQ pages are aligned with it.
- Organic results. Most product cards are organic comparisons of selected Australian retailers (the stores enabled for this environment and your store picker). You can sort the same organic set by Cheaper (price), Closer (nearest), or Quicker (delivery signal where available). Find It does not sell the order of those organic retailer results.
- Promoted results. Some slots in the results grid may show product or “shop” cards labelled Promoted or Sponsored. Those cards are commercial placements from affiliate or partner programmes (for example Commission Factory, Amazon Associates, and eBay Partner Network when enabled). They may include an image, title, price, and a partner destination link.
- How we are paid. When you open a Promoted link, Find It or its partner networks may earn a referral fee or commission if you click through and, in some programmes, if you complete a purchase. Organic “View at store” links to comparison retailers are not dual-tagged with a second affiliate network on the same click.
- What does not change. Selecting Cheaper, Closer, or Quicker still sorts organic cards only by the rules described on this page. Promoted cards are additional, labelled insertions in the grid (for example roughly every few cards); they are not used to secretly re-order unpaid retailer results.
- Labels and other formats. Promoted cards carry a clear on-card label (and may include a partner source chip). Where we show other advertising formats (for example web display or in-feed ads in a standard browser, or ads inside a native app shell), they are labelled and described here or in related legal pages.
7. Independence and conflicts
Find It is operated independently of the retailers listed. Retailer brands and product content remain their property and are shown for identification and comparison.
8. Updates
We will revise this page when coverage, ranking logic, or commercial relationships change. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest reviewed version.
